2016年12月2日，索尼音乐旗下挪威天才DJ Alan Walker将携第三支全新单曲《Alone》正式回归，这距离他首支热单《Faded》发行已整整一年。
“对于我来说，《Alone》是一首关于共鸣的歌曲，它强调感觉至上。就像我做音乐的初衷不是为了成名，而是创造好的音乐让大家喜欢，产生共鸣。这种感觉很奇妙，我做出好的音乐然后分享给他人”，艾伦本人这样说道。
而此次，Alan Walker于12月初开启亚洲巡演，而公布单曲的当天他正处在北京站巡演之时。
2017年2月10日，Alan Walker在发行《Faded（Restrung）》一年后，发布了《Alone（Restrung）》版本。并于 2月16日发布了《Alone（Restrung）》的MV。

在歌曲发布当天，Alan Walker在YouTube上发布了《Alone》的MV。截至2017年8月，点击量超过4.1亿。
《Alone》MV大部分内容是在Alan Walker的家乡卑尔根，以及伦敦、巴黎、柏林等地拍摄的，部分镜头是由Walker的粉丝在其他地区拍摄。
在发布他的第三支单曲《Alone》之前，于10月中旬在Ulriken山上和Trolltunga景区的巨人之舌录制了MV。 为此，他寻求并邀请超过一百名卑尔根公民扮演相应角色，并由瑞典制作公司Bror Bror将MV制作完成。
