全英古典音乐奖于2000年由英国唱片工业协会创办，褒奖在古典音乐方面和在流行音乐中融入古典元素方面作出突出贡献的艺术家，每年5月在伦敦皇家阿尔伯特演奏厅举行颁奖典礼。它和美国格莱美音乐奖并列当今国际上最顶尖的音乐盛会
第十届全英古典音乐奖颁奖典礼于2009年5月14日伦敦时间晚8时，在伦敦皇家阿伯特大厅举行。作为古典音乐在英国乃至世界最具影响力的8个奖项，最终有了结果（获奖名单附后）。众多世界和英国著名的古典音乐艺术家包括：卡雷拉斯José Carreras、多明戈Plácido Domingo、凯瑟琳·詹金丝Katherine Jenkins、琼纳思·考夫门Jonas Kaufmann、斐柔·史密斯Faryl Smith、神父三重唱The Priests、艾莉森·巴尔桑Alison Balsom、荷比·汉考克Herbie Hancock以及朗朗到场表演，使这一被称为“古典音乐的奥斯卡”的颁奖典礼热烈、完满。
