着魔的农家女一千年后复活，与酷似王子的大学生坠入爱河……
一千年前某神秘欧洲小国——农家女杰西与王子威廉相恋，触怒了王子的母亲伊莎曼达王后。正当王子携带杰西骑马远行之际，皇家卫队将他俩拦截。王后在宫廷巫师的帮助下，利用一条被诅咒的项链，把杰西变成了木头人。
一千年后，也就是1990年，该国的史派兹伯爵在三位健壮如牛的保镖陪伴下，带着一批他们国家最珍贵的象征派雕像抵达费城，准备在王子百货公司展览，杰西也是其中的展品之一。
在王子百货公司打工的大学生杰森·威廉森无意中取下杰西的项链后，杰西活了，而且与形貌酷似威廉王子的杰森坠入爱河。但是，杰西的国家不能失去他们的国宝，于是命令史派兹伯爵一定要把杰西弄回家乡，一场妙趣横生的追逐战就此展开。而杰西面对完全陌生的现代生活，也闹出了不少笑话。大学生杰森为了赢得杰西的爱情，横遭母亲的误解和警方的追捕。最后，这对有情人几经波折，终成眷属。
