他能把人或其他的鬼附身，被附身者眼睛突然会变为荧光的灵媒体绿，但丹尼仍旧用自己的声音替被附身者说话。丹尼也可以给人托梦。 他还可在墙上走，虽然这种能力很少被使用。

2007年8月24日，星期五，尼克频道取消了对幻影丹尼的播映。据作者Mr Hartman在一次作者见面会上说，他想结束这个故事，但是当他有了新的创作灵感和动力之后便会继续编写。这个星期五后来被众多幻影丹尼粉丝称为“幻影丹尼的黑色星期五”。

取消幻影丹尼给许多美国观众带来了不满和愤怒，于是，一场浩浩荡荡的“Save Danny（拯救丹尼）”活动就这样展开了！许多人打着“Save Danny”“Love New York, Love Danny”一类的标牌，在大街小巷中游走着，似乎在向Nickelodeon发起挑战！参与活动的不仅有儿童和青少年，还有不少成年人。但是，哈特曼先生和尼克至今都没有明确表示过要继续幻影丹尼系列。不过，“Save Danny”的活动依然继续着，更多的人参与了进来。
