徐星,1969年7月出生于新疆伊犁,祖籍江苏淮安,民盟盟员,中国科学院院士,古生物学家,中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所研究员、博士生导师、所长,云南大学古生物研究院学术院长。

人物经历

1969年7月,徐星出生于新疆伊犁,祖籍江苏。

1992年,从北京大学地质学系古生物与地层学专业毕业,获得学士学位。

1995年,从中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所古脊椎动物学专业毕业,获得硕士学位,之后留所工作。

2001年,前往美国纽约自然博物馆从事短期研究工作;同年,获得国家杰出青年科学基金资助。

2002年,从中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所古脊椎动物学专业毕业,获得博士学位。

2003年,担任中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所研究员。

2004年,入选“新世纪百千万人才工程”国家级人选。

2010年12月,担任中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所所长助理。

2012年3月,被评为中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所杰出研究员。

2013年,入选中国科学院院士(地学部)增选的有效候选人。

2014年,入选“国家高层次人才特殊支持计划”(简称:万人计划)第一批百千万工程领军人才。

2019年,参加中央电视台综合频道制作的中国青年电视公开课节目《开讲啦》。

2021年12月,出任辽宁古生物博物馆馆长;同年,《关于加强自由探索性研究,推动创新驱动发展的提案(2439号)》提案被评为“全国政协2020年度好提案”。

2022年,担任云南大学古生物研究院学术院长。

2023年11月,当选为中国科学院院士。

2024年4月,任古脊椎动物与古人类研究所所长。6月28日,参演的综艺节目《你好赛先生第二季》播出。

科研成就

徐星多年来在中国、蒙古国等国数十个中生代化石点进行过野外勘查和发掘工作,他组织的对西部戈壁地区连续8年的野外考察使得新疆准噶尔盆地五彩湾地区成为世界上最重要的中晚侏罗世过渡时期的陆相化石点;在辽宁西部的野外工作使许多极其重要的脊椎动物化石得到发现。

根据2022年6月中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所网站显示,徐星的研究工作涉及分类学、系统学、形态功能学、古动物地理学和骨组织学等诸多领域;在分类学方面,已发现和命名恐龙新属种达30余种,包括世界上已知最早的暴龙类、镰刀龙类、窃蛋类、伤齿龙类、驰龙类以及角龙类的化石,世界上第一个保存睡眠信息的恐龙标本,世界上最小的甲龙标本,世界上最小的成年非鸟兽脚类恐龙标本,世界上最早的虚骨龙类化石和世界上最早的保存羽毛的非鸟恐龙化石。在暴龙类、镰刀龙类、窃蛋类、伤齿龙类、驰龙类以及角龙类等许多类群的形态学、分类学、发育学、系统学以及形态功能学等方面的工作分别代表这些研究方向最重要的成果之一。

截至2021年4月,徐星的研究成果先后入选中国基础科学研究10大新闻(1999、2000、2009)、中国十大科技进展(2003、2007、2009)、美国《科学(Science)》杂志2014年度十大科学突破、美国《时代(Times)》杂志世界十大科技发现(2007)和美国《探索(Discover)》杂志年度一百项科学新闻(2010、2011、2012)。

人才培养

徐星认为,从教育发展的角度,当前以知识培训为主、以思维培养为辅的体系,在未来将转向以思维培养为主、知识培训为辅的体系。基于上述原因,徐星建议,应成立相关组织机构,对大数据和人工智能时代的人才需要进行研究,借鉴发达国家已经启动的相关改革经验,结合中国具体情况,尽快推出适应大数据和人工智能时代的教育规划和实施方案。同时,应选择一些学科或者学校,先行开展从课程组成、教材编写,到教育方式的一系列改革实验,建立以思维培养和方法训练为核心的教育理念,完成从知识培训型教育体系向思维培养型教育体系的转变;建立配套的高等教育体系,包括独立的高考渠道,以接纳参与改革实验的学生,打通整个教育通道,最终建立完整的适应大数据和人工智能时代的人才培养体系。

徐星的父母参加江苏大中专支边团支援边疆后在新疆定居。在信息闭塞的小城里,读书为他打开了一扇了解世界的窗口。尽管生活并不富裕,父母还是会用各种各样的图书堆满儿女们的日常生活。
