托马斯·米切尔，1892年7月11日生于新泽西州伊丽莎白城，演员。
作为演员，米切尔早在1923年就拍过一部无声片《六角恋爱》。二十年代至三十年代中期主要在舞台上献艺。1936年以《克莱格的妻子》一片重返影坛。三年后，应约翰·福特的邀请，参加了《关山飞度》（又译《驿马车》）的演出。他饰医生道克·布恩，酒喝得醉熏熏，后见车上有个女子要分娩，便强作清醒，给她接了生，其神态真是妙趣横生。由于演员的表演，该场戏已列为电影史上的经典场面之一。所以，米切尔夺最佳男配角桂冠是当之无愧的。
米切尔一生共拍有六十多部影片。其最后一部是1961年的《到处是奇迹》。
