普丽缇·泽塔的父亲为军人出身，在她未满13岁时因车祸过逝，母亲因此而卧病两年。
天生就长了一张娃娃脸，嘴边的酒涡使普丽缇·泽塔Preity Zinta在很小年纪时就为许多产品代言，1999年正在孟买大学学习犯罪心理学的时候，被一位印度星探看中，力邀她出演电影，泽塔一下子就接了三部片子，而且这三部影片都很叫座，也为她以后的星路奠定了良好的基础。
