李新荣,研究员,博士生导师,1966年生。1990年被国家教委公派至前苏联留学,于1995年在莫斯科大学生物系地植物与生态学专业获博士学位。1998年被原中科院兰州沙漠所晋升为研究员、博士生导师。现为中国科学院寒区旱区环境与工程研究所创新研究员(二级)、博士生导师,生态与农业研究室主任、生物抗逆生理生态实验室主任、沙坡头沙漠研究试验国家站站长、中国科学院研究生院教授,国家杰出青年基金获得者。
为干旱区植被生态学(植被格局与过程)、生物多样性及其保育、生态水文学(植被-土壤系统水量平衡与植被对水循环的调控机理)、荒漠植物生态适应对策及隐花植物生态学、土壤生态学。
任中国地理学会自然地理专业委员会副理事长、中国地理学会沙漠分会常务理事、中国生态学会理事、中国植物学会植物生态专业委员会理事、中国草地资源管理委员会常务理事、甘肃省生态学会副理事长、中国生态学会生态工程专业委员会理事、宁夏灾害防御协会常务理事、甘肃省欧美同学会副会长。先后在澳大利亚阿德雷得联邦科工组织水土所(1999)、美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学生物多样性研究中心(2001)和德国柏林工业大学生态研究所(2005)进修和高访,多次参加国际会议并做会议邀请报告。任《中国沙漠》副主编、《植物生态学报》编委。
主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家杰出青年科学基金、国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家科技支撑计划课题、国家重大专项水专项子专题和院地合作项目等多项,从事干旱区恢复生态学、生态系统生态学、土壤生态水文学和沙地水循环研究,在国内外发表论文100余篇(SCI收录50余篇),合写专著2部。曾获中国科学技术协会“中国科学技术发展基金沙产业贡献奖”1项(2001)、中国沙产业学会“全国防沙治沙先进科技工作者”(2003)、宁夏回族自治区科技进步一等奖1项(第一完成人,2007)、中国科学院“首届王宽城西部学者突出贡献奖”(2008)和甘肃省自然科学一等奖1项(第一完成人,2008),国家科技进步二等奖(第一完成人)。
