王尧宇，男，汉族，1961年9月生，山东菏泽人，1982年7月参加工作，1990年12月加入中国共产党，博士研究生学历，西北大学党委常委、副校长，研究生院院长，化学与材料科学学院院长，教授、博士生导师。
1982年7月兰州大学化学系学士，1999年7月兰州大学化学系博士，1999年7月－2001年7月中科院西安光机所博士后，2002年5月－2004年1月台湾大学高级访问学者。
1988年10月任兰州大学化学系讲师，1996年6月任西北大学化学系副教授，1999年12月任教授，2001年任博士生导师。2006年6月任西北大学化学系主任，2008年12月任西北大学化学与材料科学学院院长，2010年12月任西北大学党委委员、副校长。教育部“合成与天然功能分子化学”重点实验室主任，陕西省化学会理事长和中国化学会《无机化学学报》编委等。
主要从事“配位化学”、“物理无机化学”和“材料化学”方面的科研工作，主持3项、参加5项国家自然科学基金项目，主持1项高校博士点基金、1项教育部重点项目、1项教育部骨干教师基金、1项教育部优秀青年教师教学科研奖励计划和3项省自然科学基金的研究。在《Angew.Chem.Int.Ed.》、《Chem.Eur.J.》、《Inorg.Chem.》、《Crystal Growth&Design》、《CrystalEngComun》和《中国科学》等刊物上发表学术论文130余篇，合作出版专译著4部。
“国家优秀教学成果二等奖”1项、“陕西省优秀教学成果特等奖”2项、“陕西省科学技术一等奖”1项，“陕西省科学技术二等奖”2项、“教育部高校青年教师奖”和“中科院柳大纲优秀青年科技奖”等多项奖励，入选“教育部跨世纪人才”、“陕西省三五人才工程”计划，被授予“全国高等学校优秀骨干教师”、“陕西省有突出贡献中青年专家”、“陕西省有突出贡献专家”、“陕西省优秀博士后”和“陕西省优秀科技工作者”等称号。
