周氏，又名三公子、不寒。
莲波的玩笑之作——西曲《绿袖》、《斯卡布罗集市》的诗经体译词，网上广为流传，和菜头誉之为莲波体，此后网络纷现“诗经体”“离骚体”歌曲，其源头即在于此。
据莲波的文章和新语丝采访，莲波出自绍兴周氏（此女是鲁爷本家），祖父为绍兴人，49后滞留于海外，父生长于宁波，后定居于苏州，本人成长于苏州，留学美国芝加哥。和菜头曾到海外论坛向骨灰级网友询问莲波的下落，据闻已回国在浙江某小城教书。
1995年《新语丝》电子采访——莲波这名字，对于经常光顾中文网的网友来说，应该是不陌生的。此女是鲁爷本家，长于天堂，南人北相，刚烈执拗。少时枕河而眠，及长枕书而眠，如今枕电脑而眠。在这烟火纷飞的中文网中，纵横驰骋，力战群雄，令众多网客对她刮目相看。《新语丝》编辑灰人对莲波进行了一次电子采访，请她回答了一些网客所关心的问题。
《莲波散语》作者自序：莲波，浙江宁波人，长于苏州。 木命，所以耿直；命中有华盖，所以孤单，宿命，信佛，喜欢咬文嚼字。
